C3 Noise?

Noise coming from my car that is annoying!! Sounds like the exhaust is blowing (but it isnt). The noise happens whenever I press the accelerator!! any ideas what it might be???? thanks

It can be difficult to find the location of a blowing exhaust – it being hidden by the car’s bodywork, combined with your inability to view 360 degrees around the exhaust system fitted to the car.

But if it is not the exhaust blowing – then my bet would be the union between the exhaust manifold and exhaust, or even the engine block to the exhaust manifold. At both locations there will be a gasket to facilitate a good seal.

Take the car to your local repair garage – they will advise from where the exhaust is blowing, and how much they will charge to fix it. You will then know what/where the fault is – and can decide whether you can fix it yourself, or with the help of markb.
