Sunbeam Alpines make me smile.

Nice sports car those Alpines were, Daisy, however the Sunbeam Tiger was better. It had the same body as the Alpine but had a Ford V8 engine in it.
I had an Alpine ... unfortunately it was a Chrysler Alpine :(

Jaysus, they were bad cars, Dave. You could hear the tappets coming before you could see the car.
Yep - metal woodpeckers under the bonnet accompanied every mile you did.
I had a Singer Chamois. A sewing machine and something to clean the windows with.
I also had an Alfa Sud. Not really an Alfa, nice engine but the rust worms were most active.

Graham, the rust worms were active in almost all cars of that era, some did seem worse than others though.
It's not a bad car by any means, but what were Skoda thinking of with the Yeti?

Probably trying to give it an image of strength by giving it the stupid name Yeti, I think, Stephen.
I had a Triumph Herald my girlfriend was very impressed with the real wood dash board.
Had an Austin Princess as well , great car, so much room with the bench front seat 2 couples could have a sh@g in it at the same time, one in the front one in the back. Did over 100mph as well , though not a good idea while sh@gging!

LOL, one of the guys at work has got a Mitsubishi Pajero's, Hopkirk, tomorrow Ill have to tell him what it means.
The car named Pony was a joke for cockneys , Pony is slang for cr@p is in ''I'm busting for a pony'' Pony= pony and trap > cr@p
My brother had a Hyundai Pony (supplied by his company overseas)

I don't think he would disagree.

It was a hot country, and when he turned the air conditioning on it stalled the engine.
