What's the difference between driving in the middle lane and hogging it.

I, along with dozens of cars to the front and back of me, drive along at 60 - 65, keeping up with the traffic but leaving a good space for breaking, stay in the middle lane. Apparently this is breaking the law??

TWR, yes, just got a reply from Ed. on 'pe'ed' thread
3rd lane, overtaking lane, BUT I could be wrong!!!!
Some one is having a right GO at the AB, Ed, do you owe someone money?
Heh heh Im a middle lane hog. I drive fairly close to the speed limit so I figure the slow coaches can stay left and the speedsters can pass me in the right hand lane.

Wish I had never asked this, and yes I am female.
Also apologies for mistake in confusing Breaking with Braking.
Don't let it worry you Jenny, some make an Issue of things on this site, you keep hogging the middle, read the paper whilst you answer your mobile, but put your cup of tea down first, & put the fag in the ash tray x
"...3rd lane, overtaking lane, BUT I could be wrong!!!!"

ALL lanes other than the nearside lane are overtaking lanes.

"I drive fairly close to the speed limit so I figure the slow coaches can stay left and the speedsters can pass me in the right hand lane. "

Hopefully, then, Brinjal, your inconsiderate driving will, before it inconveniences too many more people, be pointed out to you by a traffic officer. He or she may simply point out the error of your ways or may just issue you with a fixed penalty notice which will cost you £100 and three points:

Lol TWR I saw that on the news regarding the person with the newspaper. I wonder if they weren't Zimbabwean because I have seen that done on a number of occasions here also with the cup of tea. So not too far fetched.

Jennykenny, it has provoked debate, which can only be good, well done!
There were 2 women year ago used to drive around Toddington Service on the M1, One use to lift her skirt up, the other use to flash her t---ts, I have seen drivers getting a BL---w job by their lady passengers, drivers eating / drinking Yes drinking, reading the paper, Wan-----g the Lot Bri, made the job though lol
But did they do any of that whilst hogging the middle lane?

sorry, but my wordfinder can't match anything to

Bl???w Job or Wan?????g

so can you assist TWR?
That's how I seen them N.J. we had the advantage been high up in the cab, THAT WAS, after I had moved in to the inside lane from the outside lane because the inside lane was empty, so I thought If I leave the outside lane to the inside lane I could see people flashing their Ti===ts in the outside lane, because I was in the inside lane looking at the outside lane, do you know what I mean?
No Baldric, I can not remember how to do it!!
//after I had moved in to the inside lane from the outside lane because the inside lane was empty//

so you're one of those truckers who think it's OK to (Illegally) use lane 3?
Here we go!!!!
For you info Mush, It ids quite legal for a HGV to use the Overtaking lane, as you call the 3rd lane, now think about that before you answer!!!!!!!!!

// as we all know its illegal to use the outside lane of a 3 or more lane m/way in an HGV. However, where there is reasonable cause, the police tend to turn a blind eye to it //
