HI all.

I had an emergency today. where i needed to get to an autistic person who was in hospital at Princess Royal, it took me one hour and thirty minutes to travel from new Addington to Locksbottom......I believe now, it was roadworks, and people picking up kids from school, now is it just me, or a do both sets of problems need to be regulated, and answerable for, there are to many people on the road at the wrong times.

One could argue that your emergency happened to occur at the worst time of the day. If it had been at midnight you would probably had no problem at all.

And what is the 'wrong time' to be on the road ? Should we all stop driving to work when the road needs maintenance ? Or ask the school to dismiss their pupils in batches of ten at fifteen minute intervals ?
It would help if kids walked to school, never did my mum and nan any harm, 5 miles there, 5 miles back, in the snow, holes in their boots, only 5...
:-))
I live on a quiet estate but we have a couple of schools. I usually leave home in the morning well before any traffic is around but I have occasionally had to leave home at approaching 9 o'clock in the morning and the junctions on the estate are gridlocked with parents (and taxis!) dropping off kids. I just don't understand why it's necessary for so many to do this.
