I have been given a really good quality Nokia 2730c-1 mobile phone but it is on the UK T-mobile system, I would like to be able to use other sim cards in it but it is locked, at one time Nokia used to run a web page giving FREE unlock codes to all of their phones but it seems to have vanished.
I have googled unlock codes for this phone but it seems they either say no codes available for this phone" or the ones that offer codes want to charge about 40 or more Euros, how can I get it unlocked cheaply (preferably with a code)

Most markets and shopping centres seem to have a "mobile phone bits" seller ... covers for phones, etc ... and they will do it for about a tenner.

All phones are unlocked until a phone company ties them into their own network. These little independent guys seem to know how to restore phones to their "as new" condition.
If the original owner is out of contract with T-Mobile, then T-Mobile are obliged to unlock the phone for a 'nominal' fee (usually no more than about £5).

Unfortunately it has to be the original owner who requests the unlock, whilst they still have their sim card in the handset.
"Smart" phone unlocking can cost a bit. Manufacturer's I assume, can make them difficult to unlock.

Just shop around at your local markets/high Street and see what is offered.

Thanks for all of your answers, so it's looking like a trip to market to find a phone stall.
