Bmw Oil Loss

Hi just trying to figure out what the causes of oil loss over a litre missing after 3 weeks of topping up. No leaking the engine hasn't a wet patch anywhere at all and no smoking from exhaust. It like it just vanishing but the only thought I have is maybe the ccv oil seperator valve

If it was me, I'd run a 30 or 40 mono grade in summer and a 15 or 20 in winter.... so a 15W30 is fine, esp. in Ireland. The pour point of 15W30 is -25 degreesC usually - that's when the oil gels out, the upper figure is the viscosity and its breakdown and vaporisation. The temperature of 40 equates coincidentally to 40 degrees C.....
Put a dose of STP oil treatment or Wynn's super charge oil treatment in and the oil consumption will drop right off.
I discovered this when researching the high oil consumption of my 1.6 Astra.
The Vauxhall Owners website reported that the 16v version was notorious for using oil when over 100,000, and recommended Wynn's.
I tried it, and it was a miraculous cure - until the oil was next changed so it had to be retreated then.

Unfortunately no turbo. I would have revved to 6k rpm also I use all my mirrors often enough when driving so I know what around in advance for my next move on the road so I notice when dust is lifted behind the car and there been no smoke. But a faulty ccv causes excess oil loss too. with the oil seperator you have a pipe going into the crank and one going into just over the sump and another going into the manifold. Where it separate oil from air through I believe a directional valve. No compression test done however that would be mainly for gaskets or worn piston rings. Which would show in oil in coolant or burning with smoke
Hi Top, thought you had emigrated lol, when you /if you get the car on ramps ( Safety in mind, Chock the back wheel up & put in 1st gear ) look in the area of the manifold on the Off / side of the Engine, they tend to lesk from that area, you can not see the loss from the top, also check your gearbox oil, It may be the case, I say, It may be the case that the Engine is not breather & pressurising causing the oil to by-pass the Gearbox seal & going into the box, Stick your finger into the rear exhaust box, is your finger sooty or oil?
