Having returned to my NZ collection abandoned c 1950 I'm very rusty on some topics and welcome help.

I used to use benzine ad lib but the easiest obtainable substitute is said to be Ronsonal. Lighter fluid used to be discouraged as it was slightly greasy. All I can get locally is Swan brand fluid. is this OK?
Will it get self-adhesives off paper?

Any comments on the 'morality' of buying an envelope and appropriate stamp, self-addressing it but before dispatch sticking on it some of the numerous stamps which have arrived on envelopes over the years without being franked.
May need co-operation of the PO to ensure the old ones are properly franked.

I'd like to be in touch with anyone with knowledge of NZ stamps.

For removal of stamps from envelopes, Mrs Overall -here this morning- said warm water and a drop of washing up liquid was a good solution.
Your third paragraph has confused me. Are you trying to reuse stamps, or collect franks?

Thanks for the responses.

Cloverjo, I said I would be buying an envelope and appropriate stamp = using that simply as a medium to get others franked. Would never defraud anyone. Couldn't stand the shame of being found out.
