Just started snowing here but not sticking (yet) - it can stick when the kids are home from school as boy #1 is 10 miles away in one direction and girl has swimming this afternoon 15 miles away in a different direction.

The vehicle we're taking is still at the other side of Ashbourne. It won't be leaving till 16:00 so we might not be going out till silly o'clock anyway :)

Dizz, You are talking about Preston? If so, M62>>M61>>M6>>M55, First slip off to the lights & turn left, 2nd set of lights, turn left, hospital on your right, It's sheeting it down here, I know the M62 Very well, get your Weather for the Saddleworth Moor before you set off.

Just read that, you can come down via Macclesfield>>> Knustford>> Lymm>>M6 North, check the road through Leek, that can be very bad for snow but at least that road has Tree Protection.

It will also be bad over the tops from Sheffield (A57) Over to M/chester Dizz.

TWR: The car is coming from Ashbourne, Derbyshire. We are then traveling in convoy to an address somewhere between Junc. 34-35 of the M1. We are going out to try and rescue a fox that's injured at an address in the Shiregreen area. I don't have the address yet but will do shortly :)

TWR: I've driven to Preston a few times (did a lot of my dry stone walling and wattle hurdling training out there). It was pretty horrible when I did the hedge laying course due to the weather. It was a nightmare commuting so I just decided to stay in a B&B. Only problem was because I wasn't driving I ended up drinking copious amounts of alcohol every night at the hotel so the following days weren't exactly pleasant!

I don't think I've ever drunk so much Lancaster Bomber in my life before but I seem to manage that week. I was either on that or Warsteiner (which at the time was at least 5%ABV).

TWR: Cheers. There's two foxes which makes our task a little more difficult but the owner of the property has just text to let me know that he has been able to get within 8' of them. It's an open garden so catching the injured one is not going to be easy - we'll see. Either way we aren't going to risk injuring it anymore than it already is.
