Just replaced the stupid "Get you home cheap c r a p of a spare that came with my Car" do you think that the makers should fit the original spare with new cars?
Yes. I think that car makers, if they provide a spare wheel at all, should provide one that is exactly the same size as those that are already on the car.
No spare wheel then no sale as far as I'm concerned. The repair/ get you home gunk knackers the tyre and those silly slim line kiddie car spares well the less said the better.
We didn't get a spare wheel at all! but as its a mobility car, RAC will take us and the car home or to quickfix, that can be a whole separate nightmare if Quickfit is closed!!
You are only allowed to drive to the nearest repair place on a 'gunked' tyre any way, then you have to replace the tyre. Wasteful if it is only a small puncture.
I have never used a tyre sealant kit, but I can see that it might have at least one advantage; if you have a puncture at night, on a dark and lonely road, you'll want to get going again as quickly as possible, and a sealant aerosol might just do that for you.
I am very happy to have a gunk can instead of a spare, car is designed like that. I could not change a spare on my own, I know how but it would be too heavy for me to manage. I have got RAC membership but then you have to wait so a can of gunk suits me fine....mind you I only do local driving.
Bought one a parts site I use Eddie £60 posted from Scotland, here in Lanc's 3 days, I had them send my a pick of the tyre / Tread / Condition that I could enlarge to see if it was dented in any way, on arrival the Tyre / Wheel was in A1 Condition, would it be against the rule if I give out the Parts dealers name?
