When I start my Mazda up, I hear a metallic rattle/ring sound coming from (I think) under the bonnet.  It only seems to do it at idle or at low revs.  Any ideas what it might be?

This noise is almost certainly being caused by the matrix of the catalytic converter disintegrating. Probably caused by unburnt fuel entering the the exhaust and raising the temperaure of the cat. to white heat. Have you had to have the ignition coils replaced recently, as this is a common cause?
