New business looks better than 'stayed the same' on their annual reports so when we all move round one most appear to be increasing their market share..
More smoke and mirrors.
Stat(istic) driven work targets. You change the way you work to maximise your stats and thus your annual bonus. What's good for the customer or good for the company becomes entirely secondary.

Leave it all to Our Broker, he does the lot, Cars, Home, Rental Properties etc.
Have a look on line every now and again, have not been able to better his prices to date, so am happy with what he's doing.
Car Insurance has been with one company (LV) for 4 years now, during that time we have both had a non-fault shunt, cars have been collected, and loan cars delivered within 24 hours, and it's been completely hassle free.
Never used the same company twice running in over 30 years.
Just ring up the existing insurer and ask for a better deal.

Often they will match or better any quotes you have from elsewhere.
when I check each year (and I do check) my car insurance comes up as the best option for me, same with my home insurance.
They don't care about retaining loyal customers. They already have enough mugs who cannot be bothered to look around for better deals.

A lot of it is 'bragging' rights about how many new customers they have recruited. If they had to quote how many they lost at the same time, it might not look so good.

I've always re-assessed my insurance yearly and only on a couple of occasions remained with the same company.
they hope to keep you through apathy and they'll hike the premium when they can. Loyalty is punished in insurance these days. I do a comparison search for all my insurance every time it's renewed.
