I have an OAP Vauxhall Cavalier (1989). Over the last few mornings there has been a very strong smell of petrol in the car. It doesn't seem to do it later in the day (eg on Sunday we didn't use the car until 5pm and it didn't do it then), so perhaps is related to cold mornings. Can anyone suggest what is causing the fumes in the car please?

Get a torch, pop the bonnet, start the car and have a good look round the engine in all the nooks and crannys for anything leaking, chances are that youve got a split fuel line they perish over time i had a 1990 bmw with the same problem.
