I had to pay an exess of 200 even though the accident wasn`t my fault, and the insurance company said they will claim it back from the other party. They say this could take a while before I see this money. How long on average do you think this will be?The insurance company is reluctant to give me any idea.

I don't know for sure Mimmy but i would hazzard a guess at a month at the very least. Sorry,it was not what you wanted to hear.
Same thing happened to me and it took 3 months to get the excess back.  Definitely phone them every week, get the name of who you spoke to and record the date and time.  The second time I rang to chase up, the guy reluctantly went to look in the file and found paperwork which needed to be acted upon, but had just been put away - I'd probably still be waiting...  Also they kept saying they were waiting for a police report, but I pointed out the other person had accepted liability so this wasn't necessary - that moved things along too.  Good luck - keep pestering!!
i work for an insurance company and it may take u sometime all depends on the type of cliam etc
