to a convoy of unmanned HGV Trucks? I myself doubt this will work, why? there is too much against from the safety / Drivers point of view, I could control a runaway HGV could a computer? can a convoy foresee a traffic problem like debris / ice / blow out outs / un-secure loads / and many other issues that could happen on the Motorways, what do you think as private Motorist?

Why wouldn't they be safer ? They are developed until they are. Planes manage to fly ok on autopilot. Surely travelling down a road is just a slightly different version to programme (just have to make sure it doesn't travel "as the crow flies").

I don't doubt the tech zacs, that's the easy bit. This will never happen.
they are not going to allow 50 tonnes of death and destruction on the roads, end of.
soon as one causes a crash they'll be back in the box.
Could a computer control a runaway HGV ?. They don't come much heavier than this, and it is successfully recovered by computer, not human intervention.

Nevertheless, it did have the road to itself. In current UK road conditions it may well have taken several innocent motorists out. But it shows what can be done NOW, so the future of auto trucks looks promising - although I've got a feeling teleporting will be invented first rendering it all obsolete ;-)

On a point, has anyone hear or read the outcome of that Runaway tipper in Bath Somerset? I have my own views on the cause.
there are no unmanned planes canary, do try and keep up dear.
They're called drones TTT and not the toy ones from Maplins. The RAF use them.
I think canary was referring to passenger planes
