Car Parked Outside My House

There's been a car parked outside my house for over 10 days.

On my street, all the cars are parked so, but they come and go throughout the day, when people go to work and return. This car hasn't moved at all which is unusual.

Should I go and report it to the police station which is just down the road or just wait?

Is it causing an obstruction?

Could the owners be on holiday?

No. No obstruction, ummm but it's not really the time of year for holidays and I've never seen it being parked, before.

It wouldn't hurt to report to the police in case it has been stolen.
Do you live near a train/tube station?

if its taxed and insured it can park there as long as it likes, only if its still there when its tax has run out can the police have it towed away and impounded we had the same problem five years ago

Check the make, colour, registration online, will tell you if its insured, tax

You've got a police station (open to the public) just down the road? Amazing! We've only got three (open office hours Mon to Sat only) for the entire county!

It might be worth mentioning it to the Old Bill though. Many years ago, I was visiting my father and (as we returned from the pub late one evening) I noticed a car left with the passenger door open outside his house. I asked him if you recognised it, which he didn't. So I phoned the police HQ to tell them that it looked a little odd. A short while later a police sergeant knocked on my father's front door to thank me for reporting a stolen car being found before the owner (in a village up the road) had even noticed it missing from his drive!

How could the OPer tell if the Tax has run out when Tax Discs are no longer issued?

we can report abandoned cars to our local council; I don't know if yours offers the facility.
