Mine was a Ford Cortina MK4 back in the late eighties, it was a little bit of an antique but I loved it although she was a little temperamental and cranky at times.
... forgot to add it cost me £125.00 but a lot more in expenses to fix her up.
Vw beetle....had a mind of its own. Start out and 5miles away it would skid round & try to return. Dad said it was coz the engine was in the rear.

Togo - did your P4 have the freewheel on it or was it one of the later ones?
A ford popular with running boards and a can of oil and a duster on a shelf in the engine compartment. Present from my father.
Early one. Big brown leather bench seat. Steering wheel made from what looked like ivory and at night the speedo etc. lit by unicorn eyes glowing luminous green. Pulled like a train. I once drove it up Etruria bank in S.O.T. with 8 people in it in top. Only possessed it for about 3/4 months melv but it has possessed me ever since.
Mine was an early 1960's Mini Van, in about 1973. It was an ex-Royal Mail vehicle. It was still pillar box red on the inside, but someone had painted it a horrible bilious green on the outside, with what appeared to have been a decorating roller.

It cost me £50, and I loved it to death ! It was like driving a go-kart.
Fiat 126 still remember the number plate!

It was a present for 17th Birthday.
Cop this, you lot. Mine was a 1933 Morris Minor. Metal encased wooden frame - suffered from dry rot leading to dropped hinges ( screws loosened by the rot !)

Throttle in centre, Stretchy wire brakes tightened through a hatch in the floor between driver's feet whilst on the move. So square in shape that I was overtaken by my own rear wheel when all three studs sheared off ! All true ! When ? 1955. Happy days.
Mini Traveller, bright grass green no wood. I loved it. Can’t remember what we paid, it won’t have been a lot.
An M.G.B roadster CVO 64 D wire wheels, chrome bumpers in pale ivory, got it for £200 from a friend who was emigrating and wanted it to go to a good home.
Mine was also a P4 Rover 100; black with red leather bench seats. More admiring glances than if I'd been driving a Ferrari, and everyone I gave a lift to said they had a relation that had one! Bought it for £500 from an old Polish man: I used to walk past it on the way to my then girlfriend's, then one day there was a 'For Sale' notice in its window. He cried when I drove it away.
Riley one & a half litre 1952 model. (RM) Bought in 1967 for £29. 10 shillings. Wish I had it now NXA 388.
