how do i find where to replace the gearbox oil on my 205 diesel

Don't know about peugeots, but experience on others usually means a bolt on the side of the gearbox (it may look like an ordinary bolt or it may be a socket type). A dead giveaway is that these bolts will be on their own i.e. not connected to anything. If/when you find and remove this bolt it usually serves as the level as well i.e. when you fill up and the oil emerges from the hole the level is correct. You will, of course, also have to find the drain plug it may also be an ordinary/socket type bolt with a washer. It will be on or near the lowest point of the gearbox and will also not be connected to anything.
