Do you watch these? I like the programs but the profit made by Mike is a Joke at times, the money spent on some of these cars that Ed repairs, who in their right mind would make a small profit after the work / time Ed put's in, the other program a car is Born, the program is also a good program but the presenter comes over as a right clown with his actions, do you watch them?

haven't seen A Car is Born, but have seen wheeler dealers some years back.
Purely from memory, their idea of a profit is slightly askew :-)
Only Wheeler Dealers. Never heard of A car is born. I shall look out for it. Re Mikes pathetic profits, they don't exist if you take Eds labour into account. I think Eds brilliant and his tips, life savers. Entertaining program, but Mikes a bit of a tool.
They don't go into it to make a profit though, they do it to make an informative and entertaining programme.

It's informative alright Hop, If I made that sort of profit for the time / work that Ed put's in to it I would close the doors.
I think the buying side is just part of the program and completely faked - makes me cringe to watch it. That staged negotiation bit on the price at the end just isnt natural and I always expect that the member of the public is just one of the crew's mates.
I do enjoy the rest of the program though.
I watch them, I love Ed china's skills and patience and the final result but the money side you have to take with a pinch of salt. It's a TV show primarily, they tend not to count hours of labour so any "profit" is sans labour.
I agree that Edd China in Wheeler Dealers is very skilful and knowledgable, and comes across really well - but he's been forced out!

Don't know what the producers were thinking, as Mike Brewer's part in the show is really negligible, but I hope Edd crops up soon somewhere else - he deserves it
He wasn't forced out - he chose to leave.

The buying and selling is all fake and most of the repair work is done by a large team but it is still an enjoyable show, although Mike Brewer gets on my nerves. How is he allowed to advertise his own businesses throughout the show I will never know.
I only came across the programme within the last year or so – in a recent episode I caught, Mike Brewer looked like he had just got out of short-pants, whereas now he looks well past his sell by date.

I don’t know how many episodes they made over the years, but it can’t be that many because I’ve already come across a number of repeats.

I know Edd China comes across as a very knowledgeable mechanic; on only a couple of occasions has he given credit for advice from an expert on some vehicle. But I just don’t believe his encyclopaedic knowledge, when renovating a Hummer (there are probably less than a thousand in this country), yet he had intimate knowledge of the vehicle’s electrics.
As you can see, there has been a lot of episodes, around 175

Looks like I've got around 150 episodes to catch up on.
pity the suits have got hold of the show. I can see why Ed's off
So can I, TTT. Don't blame him either.
Car S.O.S. is more to my liking.
Havn't seen that or A Car Is Born.
You would definitely like Car S.O.S Av, doing up old British motors for good causes or families who make a request. Humour as well.
What channel is it on, Togo ?.
That link shows a lot of non British cars, but in the main they are usually British marques. Repeats are on in the afternoons, including all the old series.
Thanks, Togo.
