with little tax to pay and cheap to run, I want to get rid of my Ford focus. I do not drive so much these days, but I still want to have a car around. Any ideas ?

hav a look at Smart Cars
Whatever you do, buy a petrol not a diesel.

Mazda 2 - reliable, cheap as chips, easy to drive/park

Hyundai i10
My Skoda Citigo is like a Tardis inside. Love it!
VW UP! I bought one earlier this year after several larger cars, I love it, can't fault it, tax only £20/annum, nippy, well made, check the range out.
I've got a little Jazz - as it's a hybrid, the road tax is only £10 a year. Goes fine on the motorway when needed, but mostly it's just for pootling round town.
I don't know about tax but I'd go for a KA.

I had an older version. Looks like a small car on the outside but drives like a much bigger car.

Ummmmm thats the one I looked at first
The Skoda Citigo, VW Up! and Seat Mii are essentially three sisters...the same car in slightly different guises. Undoubtedly the best city cars around......

I have a Jazz too. Great little car!
Brilliant cars, Tam.

Previously I had an Astra Sport...and although I loved that car the KA was just as good.

It's much bigger than it looks.
I agree with sunny. DON'T buy a diesel.
If you can afford it, get a small Toyota Hybrid.
Super cheap to run and very, very low tax.
Also, very versatile design for accommodating passengers or large loads and super reliable.
I agree with Mmmm, I used to have a Ka, great car, and much bigger inside than it looks.
