Meriva Problem
10 Answers
We purchased a Vauxhall Meriva Automatic in June.It was registered in 2011 so has had previous owners. Our first Meriva badly was damaged and not repairable and we purchased a replacement in desperation as my husband is disabled and we can't be without transport. We drove it locally with no problem, and after a week drove from Devon to Kettering with no problem. On arriving in Ketterring the engine stalled. We drove on further and it stalled again ande repeatedly stalled till we reached our daughter's house. The AA reckoned the problem was with the fuel system. We arranged for our Vauxhall dealer to have the car back for repair. They had our car for a week and checked out everything to do with the system and replaced some parts.3 days after they returned it too us the engine seized up again.Vauxhall had the car back for 3 weeks while they made other checks. They relaced the ECU (total cost of repairs so far approx.£2500) Thankfully we paid for warranty. The car drove beautifully for a few days, then the engine seized up again.Unfortunately automatic Merivas are hard to come by and the are very comfortable to drive and get into as not too low.We have asked Vauxhall to replace it or refund our money. If there is anyone who has had a Meriva with a similar problem,we'd be happy to hear from you and what was done to fix it
