S O R N When Car Already Sorned......help!
24 Answers
ok I bought a car it was SORN at the time, now I know you are supposed to SORN it yourself to replace the existing SORN, I tried to SORNn it for me but it said already SORNed. I got a red letter from DVLA, threatening the 10 plagues of Egypt if I did not SORN it so I followed the instructions in the letter and tried to SORN it again by net and phone each time it says already SORNed so not necessary. I now anticipate a plague of boils. What am I doing wrong?

I had a similar problem with my late husband's car. He sold it just before he died to a local dealer and I have the sales paperwork but it appears that the car was never re registered as for many years (3 or 4) I got the safety recall documents sent to my husband. In the end I phoned the vehicle licensing people and put my problem to them as I was concerned that if the car was involved in an accident, things might get more difficult even though I had the sales paperwork. Helpful lady checked their records and confirmed that DH was still recorded as the keeper but said not to worry, she would put a note on the file....problem solved....so maybe worth a phonecall?
