Pcz - Single Yellow Line Ticket But No Signage
I Received a ticket in harringay on Friday at 20:28Pm I turned on to a one way road with no signs at the top of the road for the first 150FT and there was noting to say i was in a controlled PCZ, I came out to have a ticket on my car ...
My questions are simple
1. is there a law on how visible the sign has to be or distance to where I parked my car ?
2 Should I just Pay it ?
Thanks Joe

I have found a Cranbrook Park N22 with "The Lord Nelson" pub at the western end. Is that the right one? Just to the north of the junction there are signs "Wood Green Outer Controlled Zone" but Cranbrook Park is outside this. "Driving" eastwards along Cranbrook Park I can see lots of signs, some on lamp-posts, some on single posts, which say parking is for residents only 6:30am to 10:00pm OR pay at meter BUT only up to 6:30pm and max 2 hours. Thetre are also double-yellow lines in places. I can't see any single-yellow lines and the pictures are dated 2017.
If you parked after 6:30pm it looks like you are a sinner unless the signage has been changed since the Google car took the pictures.

I've found the single-yellow lines now near the Lord Nelson. The only signs there are inside the marked bays and the loading bay opposite the Lord Nelson. There are NO signs on the single-yellow bit outside the garage. According to the Highway Code single-yellow lines need to be accompanied by a sign stating when you may nor park. I think you have grounds to challenge.
You need to remember that the signs telling you you're entering a Parking Control Zone work the same way as the ones which tell you that you're entering a 30mph limit. i.e. there are no 'repeater' signs. You're expected to note the presence of a sign as you pass it and then remember that it continues to apply until you pass another sign telling you that it doesn't.
So it's not uncommon for a PCZ sign to be placed over half a mile (or even further) away from streets which it continues to apply to. There is no requirement for signs on every street.
