Washer Bottle Problem - Audi A4

I have to go on a long drive tomorrow so was checking all my levels today.

Pour water in my washer bottle and it basically ran out the bottom. Took the filter thing off the top so I could see inside, there is a hole in the bottom of the washer bottle (its a round black hole not a break). I cant see if anything should be connected to the hole in the bottom. Clearly I cant drive the car if I cant clean my windscreen. Help, please!

I would imagine the hole is where the washer pump should be, what year Audi?

It might well be the hole where the pump should fit.

Looking at that video and another from the same people it looks as if the tank is in two parts, the little one you see from inside the bonnet and a much larger one underneath. The 'hole' you can see through the filler is the connection between the two, either the bottom half has come adrift from the top or the seal between the two has gone. If all the water you pour in the top comes out under the car then it sounds like they have come adrift, if it's only some of it then you may be able to pour enough in to fill the bottom and as the pump is in the bottom section it 'should' still work.

Fitzer, I dont think ALL the water is coming out. I have now managed to fill it up and taken the car for a run to see if everything works. The pump appears to be working fine, so I think I shall be able to see.

That car has got to go.

Barmaid, in these mornings & frost, put an egg cup full of Salt in your water bottle & use some of the fluid so it remains in the screen Feed pipe.
