when you're insuring your car and the insurers ask if you'd like your no claims bonus protected or not protected, what's your answer and why?

I've been driving for nearly 30 years and I've only needed to claim once, so I'd be out of pocket if I'd have protected my NCD. Therefore I don't take up that option now.
