Gearbox Problem

hi have xtype jag a warning symbol has come up on dash and it is struggling to pull away it is 52plate 2,0l auto v6 any body have this problem when put in drive it make a clunk this has only happened since light came on

Check the gearbox fluid level. Disconnect the battery for half an hour to reset the warning light.

It would be useful to know what the warning symbol is telling you - the handbook should tell you.
