Loss Of Dab Programmes On A Radio
7 Answers
I have a Chronos Pure Radio/Alarm/CD player - approx. 15 years old. It has worked OK until a few days ago when I lost all the DAB channels. The only channel with sound I can get is something called Jackie on FM, but when I select DAB all I get is something called Trial London BUT, even though the volume indicator says it is loud, there is no sound. I have pressed reset which should take me back to the factory settings but this makes no difference. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions as how I can rectify it or do you think the radio has past its lifetime? Any help gratefully received.

Ensure the aerial is fully extended and press and hold the'Info', 'Setup' or 'Menu' button (depending on your radio model) for around 3 seconds. You will see a message appear on the radio screen saying something along the lines of 'Press Tune to confirm reset...' (on some models you may need to turn the 'Tune' dial to 'Factory Reset')
Confirm the reset by pushing the Tune or Select dial in to confirm. You'll know you've done it right because the the radio will switch itself off and on again.
The radio will now perform an autotune and detect all DAB stations in range of it.
Congratulations, you have now performed a factory reset on your Pure radio."

I would steer well clear of any radio with the word 'pure' on it. I've had no end of trouble with them. Especially a dab radio designed for use by the blind. Kept losing stations then took ages to retune. Interestingly in the 19th century 'pure' was another word for dog poo, used to collected for use in the tanning industry.
