Hi, had a large dent taken out of the rear door and stupidly went for cheaper repair. This has now left it with slightly raised dimples and although they are hard to see I'm selling the car and wonder if it's possible to get rid of them.

I suspect the method used to pull the dent out was to weld small diameter rods of metal to the affected area, and to apply a pull force on the rods to get rid of the dent.

Once the dent is pulled out, the welded rods are cut off, smoothed down and the area re-painted. From what you say, it appears that they did not do a good job of smoothing down the surface before re-painting.

If I were you, I’d leave it – there would be a lot of work in smoothing down the surface and re-painting, if as you say the dimples are hard to see.

Thx, good advice.
You can’t smooth down the surface. It’s the door skin. Rubbing it down would (eventually) create a hole.
EEZA, are you talking about an orange peel finish to the paintwork?

Just looks like small bumps, maybe the orange peel sounds about right.
just stand in front of that bit when you are showing them the car!
Nice one Dave, pragmatic to the end :-D
EEZA, a bit of cheesecloth with Brasso applied and rubbed in well using small circular movements will bring out orange peel. My late father was in the motor trade and I saw him do this on many an occasion, it really works.
