check gearbox

My renault megane cc lately after driving awile shows the message "check gearbox",after that while i'am driving I hear a strong noiseunder the middle of the car.
The local representative suggests to replace the whole set of the automatic gearbox,since the car is only one year old.

Do you suggest me to follow their offer or to ask to replace my car,since it has only 8000 km?

If you enjoy the car let them repair it.
I dont think after 1 year they would replace it, probably just offer you a decent part exchange value.

As the auto-gearbox is a seperate self-contained system in its own right I don't see any reason why you should expect the whole car to be replaced for a gearbox fault unless the gearbox explodes and causes other damage to various things.
Surely It would be better for you to get a new gearbox on good terms with the dealers than to get into a battle which you might lose anyway.
