Can I just start driving a moped on a full car license without doing anything apart from buying the bike and the clothing?

I think it depends when you passed your full car test, have a look on your license, if you have a full license category P then yes you can.

You will aslo need to have third paty insurance!

The laws on Mopeds and Motorcycle licences are very complicated now, go to your local Motorcycle/Moped dealer who will put you straight. A lot depends on your age, if you are too young you will not even be allowed to drive it away from the dealers!
