I have a Peagout 206 1.6 GLX, year 2000. I have recently had my clutch replaced and now it is making a kind of spinning grinding sound when the clutch pedal is released. The garage says this is normal but I know its not because it never used to happen. Also, they had to "sheer" my fly wheel as it was apparantly rubbing on the clutch. Can someone tell me whats wrong as im getting pretty ticked off at it

You might get a slight noise until it settles in but nothing to cause concern. I don't know what a sheer is unless this means skimming the surface where is has been rubbing on metal parts due to too much wear. Did they change the thrust bearing which would be making the noise? If it doesn't settle down it needs investigating.

They sold me a clutch kit so Im assuming all the parts were replaced. The noise is quite loud and I cant see how this is normal. This is the 2nd clutch they have replaced as they had not fitted the first one correctly. The car has been off the road for a total of 7 days in 2 weeks.

it sounds as if the clutch release bearing is at fault and it aint normal. take it back, try and be patient, if you dont get any joy try trading standards. the garage is'nt called bodgit and scarper is it?
Have to agree tha this really does sound like a clutch release thrust bearing problem. If your garage did NOT replace it with the clutch then they've stupidly tried to save a few quid and caused much more trouble. It is worrying that they had to re-do the job as they'd done it wrong first time around - a clutch replacement is hardly rocket science or brain surgery, is it ? Maybe they have put the release bearing in the wrong way around, or managed to introduce dirt into the equation. If you are in the RAC or AA then I would suggest you let one of their experts check over the workmanship .
I think you need to take it back and demand they fix it properly. A clutch can easily be changed in a day. Tell them if they can't sort it out you'll get someone else to do it and send them the bill. You are quite entitled to do this and take them to a County Court if necessary.
