Yous Are Going To Kill Me

what do you think.  Got my little red car and it is lovely to drive.  Gears are slotted in properly, lovely steering wheel but what concerns me, that most of my driving days with other cars my clutch would have been difficult to push down and you need to do that right into the ground to ignite this car.

 

However when I start the car with the clutch - clutch is absolutely very soft to push and with a snip at the ground - flares into life.  

 

Is this normal cos the last car dealer let me try another colour you would have needed two legs to push it down so this going softly is unusual to me.

 

Any help or advice please.  thanks  

 

I know some of you tell me to go back to the dealer but I am trying to avoid that.  

 

Just is it normal to have a soft clutch and then igniting with a tip of a toe.

in my experiences, ALL clutches are different.

Yes, I think it is normal, on my car I press the clutch pedal down about 1/2"(12mm) to start it.

no tilly - computer changed it - was the only way I could get back on here.

All later model cars, with manual gear change, require the clutch pushed right down(gearbox dissengaged). This is a safety feature and part of the eco stop start that lots now employ. Bleedin nuisance it is sometimes when the engine cuts out just as the traffic is moving again.

I find it positively dangerous at times particularly when you need to boot down and it dies. Fortunately I can disable mine if I remember as soon as I switch on the ignition.
