Snowy Roofs

If i said that my neighbours roof is free of snow while the other houses have a carpet of snow on them .

Has he been busy this morning and shovelled off the snow off his roof ?

Why go to all that trouble ?

Talking of snowy roofs (rooves?) - why don't houses have snow guards these days?  They are available but I don't see them being used in my locality
