Tighten the chain on a 1999 Yamaha R6

Anyone know how it's done. Just bought the bike and pretty much clueless when it comes to them.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Well I suppose all R6 are the same, so on the right hand side of the back wheel should be a large nut on the shaft which goes through the middle of the wheel, loosen it, then there is a small nut and bolt inside the frame on each side loosen the nut (furthest from the centre) , now you can turn the small bolt head (closest to the centre) anti-clockwise to tighten the chain, turn both sides the same and make sure that the distance from the frame end to the centre of the shaft is the same both sides (there should be a scale marked on the frame side) , the chain should have about 25mm slack top to bottom. tighten everything.
