Handbrake light on dash

Every time I brake handbrake light flashes. Car doesn't stall or even try to - any ideas anyone ? Wiring problem / Alternator on way out ?

If your handbrake light is the same as your brake warning light, as mine is, you could be leaking brake fluid. This is what happened with mine

to save people guessing at answers why don't you give details of make, age, etc of your car so people can give you a proper answer?
some brake pads have an electrical contact inside, when they wear, this touches the disc and so earths telling you that your pads will need renewing soon.

Sounds like worn out brake pads to me.


Very dangerous. Suggest getting it checked out quickly.
