does anyone know anybody looking for a 1971 vw beatle . it needs a bit of work done on it . any offers ?

Sell it on e bay with a reserve of about 3 grand. Beetles are like gold dust (bit like split screen moggy thousands) regardless of condition. Try tapping into the beetle owners club (google it) you might be surprised at how much it's worth.

Only yesterday I woke up thinking I really want a slow, ugly, noisy, unreliable German death trap with no decent heating and funny shaped pedals. Added to my wish list was a desire to have similar cars wave at me wherever I go and attend various "shows" in the UK where I can share my petrolism with other hippies.

Only joking. I think they are greeeaaatttt really. If you do sell it on ebay I would advise to take as many pics as possible. Not only for the site but when potential customers ask for some private ones.
