ABS light and MOT
7 Answers
Will the ABS light being on fail the MOT? Brakes are all new and otherwise fine.
Got a dodgy sensor on one wheel and the test on Friday :-(

Thanks Furry, guess I'll have get it looked at. I do remember once, before current requirements, failing on a frayed rear middle seat belt. Instead of getting a new one I simply cut it out, and passed on re-test. Couldn't I simply disconnect the ABS alltogether by removing a fuse or something. After all it is an optional extra on a lot of cars, isn't it?
You should tell people what sort of car you have if you want informed answers instead of guesses.
When I had a Scorpio with ABS the light used to come on now and again, I cured this by just wiggling (technical term) the sensor lead that goes to the abs sensor behind the wheel, this would cure the problem for a couple of months, then I would just do it again.
