However it has been widely predicted for at least three or four years now so if such an obvious source of revenue has been ignored for so long they must want to encourage people to move to it quite a lot.
Given how few LPG cars there are as compared to Petrol and diesel I'd say you're probably safe from fuel duty for a few years yet

I have run two, twenty year old cars on LPG for years. I am happy with the way things are. The number of garages stocking LPG is good, but not too many motorist converting to have Gordon intrested.
Remember that a litre of LPG has a much lower calorific value than a litre of petrol or deisel so you cannot compare by price. The savings are not that good and hardly justify the conversion costs. A deisel is much more economical and even better if you use low taxed vegetable oil, that's the way to go.
