Help, the VW had the emmissions thing last nite and today the Toyota's leaked oil cos of teeny weeny hole in the sump!? (other half informed me of this). Its a k reg corolla, lovely motor for driving but bland to look at. Any ideas how to fix hole cos to buy new sump would cost more than car is worth probably. oh, and any SENSIBLE answers about emmissions workshop warning on golf v5. :(

afraid not new sump is the only sensible thing to do to cure this prob soz

I have already checked this site for you they have several used sumps for your car, give them a try! cheaper than a new one.

Clean it up and put something like Plastic Padding in and over the hole but for a better job take it off and either put a sealed nut and bolt through the hole or have it welded or brazed. If it is very small then a sealed self tapping screw could work.

stanleymans idea's are good except that plastic padding is not oil resistant, have a look around the DIY places and you will easily find an epoxy or sealant which is oil resistant. Obviously if you do this you will have to drain the oil and clean it well with solvent etc... before putting the epoxy.

My choice for a small hole would be the idea of the self-tap screw with a fibre washer under the head. if this works you won't even need to remove the sump.
