Car park incident with trolley
My mom, my brother and myself were at B&Q a few weeks ago buying packs of laminate flooring and a few doors.
The car was parked front first with the boot accessible to the aisle. My brother was unloading the packs of flooring off the trolley into the car whilst my mom was holding the trolley still for him. We had been there for about 10 mins.
As I was adjusting the front seat forward, a car bumped the side of the trolley causing a dent to their door.
This will give you an idea of how close they were. The trolley was positioned right behind our car, virtually touching the bumper, and the passenger could hardly squeeze out of her door as they were that close to the trolley.
At the time, the driver wasn't too bothered as he said it was a company car, but his wife was adamant to get details from us. My mom reluctantly gave her contact details but refused to give my brothers car registration details which they had requested due to his vehicle not being part of the collision.
My mom has now received a letter this morning from their solicitors (I think, or could be insurers) stating that as their clients (the driver and his company) are insured third party only, can she confirm she will pay for damages by claiming off her home insurance!!

But I think you need proper legal advice. Do you have legal assistance on your home policy? Ask them about it. If not, go to the CAB. Don't write back to them till you get proper advice.
