Hi,

I have a vauxhall astra 52 plate with a phillips radio.

Recently had to take the battery off and now when i turn the radio on it comes up saying "safe". I'm sure i remember the dealership telling me if that happens i had to do something with the keys. Does anyone know what?

No, lost the handbook.
take it down to the vauxhall dealer and im sure if you put on your best charm ,they will do it for you.
I used to have a Sat Lon and this did the same thing - the dealer advised me to block the car on my driveway, with the keys in position 2 (my advice would be to not leave it unattended obviously). After around an hour the safe mode on the display was replaced with dashes for inputting the code again. Once I did that, it worked perfectly.

I'm fairly sure the Sat Audio is Philips in disguise too, so it may be the same.

1. Switch Ignition on.

2.Switch unit off

3. Press AS Button and simultaneously switch unit on

"code" appears in the display, after 3 sec

Enter the code number (from car document) using station controls 1 2 3 & 4

Store the code by pressing AS button for 3 sec, until tone is heard
