central locking key-fob

Hi,my key-fob has stopped working on my pug306 1999,tried new batteries but no joy?approx cost for a new one please

if your key is the transponder type, they cost about �100 from peugeot ! was talking to mechanic at local pug showroom when had my 406 serviced. apparently all the codes are kept in storage in FRANCE. cant remember the way the ordering works but i think you would have to pay for your local garage to contact the french, who would then dig your code out of the vaults and send it back to England.....
