Which uses less fuel travelling between two points assuming the same distance...travelling at 30mph on minor roads or 60mph on a motorway?

60 mph, or it was once said that 55 is the most economic speed

The speed of 56 mph was generally given inmpg figures. However, most cars are most economical at around 40 to 45 mph in top gear/
