Anti flash number plate

I have just bought a suzuki sv650. As a proud new owner does, I took some photos of it. When I looked at the pics I noticed that my number plate was blank!! I don't know if it has some kind of anti flash thingy on it preventing the cameras from identifying me.

As much as I like the idea of never getting caught by a camera, I hate the thought of getting in trouble for this.

Is there an alternative to replacing the plate? Can this stuff be cleaned off?

I would leave it as it is.

In the very unlikely event of anyone finding out about it tell them when you bought the bike and you knew nothing about it, how could you?

All cameras will be taking pictures of the front of vehicles in time.

If you want to get rid of it the easiest way is to buy a new plate, not very expensive, that way you will also get rid of garage adverts on your plate!

Not true about the garage adverts - you just have a different one. All number plates now have to bear the name of the supplier. Part of new regulations to reduce number plate fraud. Not possible to just pop into your local motor factors shop and get a plate - you need registration document and ID.

I have just bought a pair from halfords which have a small code number which is hardly visible! No Adverts!

I did need my Registration and ID to get them though.

fair enough, I was under the impression that the suppliers were now obliged to print their name on them too for traceability
