Can you tell me how the change the brake pads on a vauxhall vectra and are anys special tools needed? Thanks

get a manual from halfords and study it.


If you have never changed brake pads on any car take it too a garage, if you get it wrong it could be dangerous.

Thanks for the reply. I have changed brake pads before, on a mark 2 and 3 Astra and most recently on an X reg (2000) new shape Corsa. But, more and more these days you need special tools to do the job. I don't want to buy the pads and then not be able to fit them because you need a special tool to do it. Unfortunately, Halfords don't stock a manual for this car.

You should not have a problem, the trouble with newer cars is if you don't push the pistons back correctly, sometimes using a special tool you can get problems, best of luck with it.
