car insurance for 1 week

is it possible to take out insurance on a car for one week? my sister in law is going away for a week and said i can borrow her convertible. i'm not insured to drive off my present insurance - i'm too young.

it is not possible
1) you cannot have 2 insurances on 1 object (assuming your sister has it insured herself!)
2) you cannot insure something that does not belong to you.

the only way you could drive it is to get you name put on sisters policy as a named driver (bearing in mind if you have an accident not only will she kill you for crashing the car, but it would affect her no claim bonus!)

no no no toureman- you can insure her if she belongs to you- its only if she's not yours that you cant insure her.
write your name on her forrid just to be sure so noone gets confused about ownership.
