Whenever I drive over a bump or shut my door, my speakers go off. Any idea where the problem lies?

Maybe there is a loose connection somewhere? When you shut the doors, maybe it just jolts it a bit and disconnects it?
If it happens when you shut the door, it's probably a loose connection on the speaker itself ... failing that, it could be a fault in the wire where it goes through the rubber tube between the doorpost and the door ... try the speaker end first...

unlikely that it's anything major or expensive to fix ... a squeeze with a pair of pliers, or a piece of tape on a bare wire could cure it..

If you're really unsure, pop it to Halfords, they have Car Audio 'experts / fitters' at their stores

Cheers. I'm not sure about pulling my car to bits but I aint paying Halfords to tape a bit of wire!
Don't blame you Cooky - Just find the speakers and trace the wires back - it'll either be the speaker end or the cassette-player end which is a bit loose. Just tape it up with a bit of duct tape and it should be fine.
If you have a CD player it might not be the speakers but the disk jumping!
