v w td transporter

mate as just bought a v w transporter 1.6 TD the turbo as packed in and was wondering if any other turbo will fit i.e golf,passat the camper is on a (G) plate 89/90

I've just finished replacing the engine on my transporter. It's a 1.6TD '86 model. I've replaced the engine with a newer Passat one and the turbo looks basically the same, excepting that a Passat also includes the intercooler which will not likley be present on your friend's van. I possibly have a spare turbo if your friend is interested, as my replacement engine came with all the accessories (including the turbo& intercooler) The turbo I have is the original one from the T3 Transporter (1986) Otherwise, good luck with your hunting. You shouldn't find much difficulty replacing it. My email is [email protected]
