Your licence will not be endorsed with any points. It is just a fine. The guideline is "Actual duty lost" plus a fine dependent on how long the tax has been unpaid. It is banded from 1 - 3 months unpaid duty, 4 - 6 months unpaid duty, 7 -12 months unpaid duty.

i do not understand why you would want to drive a car without an mot anyway. you do realize that with this new computerised mot the old bill know if you have one or not.

This has been debated before on AB and there are differing views. The only driving offence that nullifies insurance is if the driver is disqualified from driving.

as an officer of the lerrrrr i can reliably inform you that to have valid insurance cover the vehicle must be roadworthy have insurance an MOT certificate and a valid road excise licence.and the driver holding a full or provisional licence.
if the vehicle does not have an MOT or excise licence then you also have no insurance (just try making a claim)
i can also tell you that it is an endorsable offence (points)
and you can even be banned from driving

I forgot the car was 3 years old, so I didn't do it on purpose.
I have insurance and road tax.
