I am taking advanced driving test with a Nissan Micra SE (2003). One of the Show Me, Tell Me questions in the test is about checking the level of the windscreen washer fluid. The hand book doesn't show how to check it and the bottle seems to be located within the front offside wing so it can't be seen. There doesn't appear to be a dip-stick for it and it seems that the only way is to rely on the electronic indicator on the dashboard or just fill it 'till full. Surely I am missing something??
1. Dilligaf - The filler lid is build in to the metal frame of the car and runs into a tube that leads in to the wing.
2. Toureman - The Tester may require me to explain how to check the level of the contents. I am taking the ADI (Authorised Driving Instructor) Level 2 Driving Test.
If you are taking an ADI pt 2 test, just tell the examiner you have an indicator on the dashboard otherwise you would take off the filler and look into the bottle.
Do not mention Authorised Driving Test to the examiner.
ADi means Approved Driving Instructor. At this moment in time you are a PDI. (potential driving instructor)
Do not worry too much about the tell me show me questions. You will receive one driving fault for an incorrect answer but the above reply I posted would not incur a fault.
Listen carefully to what the examiner tells you. At the start you will be told to "drive as you normaly would but high standard of competence is expected."
Remember what you have been told during your training.
Any faults commited will be obvious to you and the examiner but do not dwell on them, they can not be undone.
They may not be serious enough to entail a failure, only the examiner knows.
The only other advice I can give is just relax and pretend a friend is sitting along side giving directions toi you. Believe me examiners want candidates to pass especially ADI tests.
Good luck
John.
