MY airbag has constantly got her mouth open !

If you mean your car's airbag, I think you'll find it has more to do with the impact than your own speed. For instance you might be going slowly but another vehicle hits you head on travelling much faster than you and both cars airbags will inflate.

When I was in an accident two years ago, my car was hit at the front and the airbags didnt inflate but the other drivers did and his was side impact.
